Fitness is a Focus at Atlantic Shores

Quality of life is about staying fit! Our Fitness & Aquatics Director Jason Herring works with residents to assess strength and agility, and create customized exercise and strength training programs that enhance physical wellness.

Our classes are a mix of low impact training that focuses on a variety of key areas, including strength and resistance training, balance, and core control.  Classes are offered Monday through Friday, and range between 30-45 minutes.

Body strengthening is increased with theraband, lightweight fitness, and bar classes. Aqua-fitness programs focus on range of motion, balance and control, and high-intensity interval training. And every pool class finishes with core work.

All physical training is complemented with spiritual/mind and body classes like Tai Chi and meditation.

Residents can also stay on track with one-on-one professional Personal Training or train with a friend in special “buddy sessions.” Sessions last 30 minutes and are personally customized to focus on the goals of each resident.

Our affectionate therapy dog, Tucker, also helps encourage performance and add a little fun to fitness with visits to the weight room.
