Managing Director of Finance

Jenny Maugeri

Jenny is the Managing Director of Finance for Atlantic Shores Retirement community.  In this position, she oversees the Finance Department and is responsible for managing all day-to-day finances, including supervising payroll and resident billing, preparing monthly financial statements, and creating the annual budget.  She is also responsible for keeping operating expenses in line with the budget to ensure that Atlantic Shores is running at optimum efficiency.

Jenny came to Atlantic Shores in 2008 as Senior Financial Analyst.  Since joining the Atlantic Shores team, she has worked closely with the finance staff to create a well-organized, highly-efficient, positive team-like environment, resulting in significantly improved employee morale.  These departmental improvements, as well as Jenny’s dedication and attention to detail, resulted in a 13% increase in the operating profit margin from 2008 to 2009, and the trend continued in 2010.

Prior to joining Atlantic Shores, Jenny served as Audit Associate and Senior Audit Associate with KPMG, LLP, a global network of professional services firms providing audit, tax, and advisory services.  At KPMG she was in charge of large audits of both public and private companies, working in many high-risk areas including pension, personal injury, and deferred compensation, as well as accounts receivable, revenue, fixed assets, and other audit areas.  She holds a BBA in Accounting from Radford University, where she served as Captain of their Division I Field Hockey team and as President of Beta Gamma Sigma, the honor society for Collegiate Schools of Business.  She has passed her CPA exam and is now pursuing her MBA.   Jenny lives in Virginia Beach with her husband and their dog.  In her spare time, she loves to play sports, run, and relax at the beach, and she is also conversational in Spanish.
