The Wellness Center is staffed by two nurse practitioners; a licensed practical nurse; a medical assistant; and a receptionist. A nurse practitioner is a registered nurse who has advanced education and clinical training in a health care specialty area and is qualified to serve as your primary care provider. The Wellness Center staff can obtain medical histories, perform physical exams, order lab work and x-rays, prescribe medications and other treatments, and diagnose and treat acute health care problems such as infections and injuries. The Wellness Center can also diagnose, treat, and monitor chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension. Some of the services available at The Wellness Center include annual physical exams, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, immunizations, pacemaker checks, wound care, emergency home visits, injections, lab work, x-rays, and EKGs.
