Richie Cuocco

Food & Beverage Director 

Richie oversees the day-to-day operations and staffing for all food service operations at Atlantic Shores Retirement Community.  Chef Cuocco views his position as working for family at an upscale retirement community, offering its 650 residents a fine dining experience in country club ambiance.  His recipes have recently won the Chef’s Choice and People’s Choice awards at the March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction event.

Originally from New York, Richie moved to Virginia Beach as a teenager.  He began his career early in the kitchen at The Big Tomato in Virginia Beach.  His talents were honed working on a team under Master Chef Tom Colicchio (best known for his role as judge on the Bravo series Top Chef), as well as working at the famous Gramercy Tavern in New York City.  His culinary creations have also delighted local diners at some of the region’s top restaurants, including Coastal Grill, The Lucky Star, and Mahi Mah’s.
